TASBO is seeking members who are seasoned school business officials to volunteer as a TASBO Mentor.
The 2026 - 2027 Mentoring Program begins in September 2026 and runs through August 2027. If you feel like you have the knowledge and time to give to our protégés, then we would love for you to submit your application.
About the TASBO Mentoring Program:
Free to TASBO members, the mentoring program is designed to support protégés through the first two years on the job in a variety of ways. This program is a great resource to help members hit the ground running.
Supported by TASBO Connect private communities, members are provided access to tenured experts nine fields of school business. In addition to the Connect community, there will be an initial mentoring program orientation, monthly online meetings, one Annual Conference meetup and potential for meetups at TASBO Fundamentals and Academies. Members can join at any time throughout the year.
Mentor Expectations:
Monthly Virtual Mentoring Meetings:
Each mentor group has its own set culture; the meetings are designed to be informal, Q & A sessions, and hot topic based.
- This can mean leading a monthly meeting, helping create the prompts, or offer topics/resources to the lead mentor.
- Based on the group you are a mentor of, you will either be part of a larger group, or there may only be one or two other mentors in your group. It is required that at least one mentor from each group attends the virtual monthly mentor meetings.
Mentoring Program Private Communities:
Each of the 10 groups has its own private community. Only those that register for the specific program area, get access to that correlating community. That means it is a great way for a protégé to ask questions in a safe space. additionally, this means, its a great way for you to pull them out of their shell and provoke conversation.
- Must create a short Connect Bio & have a profile picture on your Connect Profile
- Must respond if reached out to both publicly in connect or through personal email
- Must post a minimum of two (2) times a month
- These can be resources, questions to the protégés, respond to questions, timeline notices, etc.
