Prior to the legislative session two TASBO members served on the school finance commission. Their voices were pivotal to ensuring that student needs were represented on the commission. To honor their commitment, we presented Austin ISD CFO Nicole Conley Johnson and Pflugerville ISD Superintendent, Dr. Douglas Killian with a special Champions of Education Award.
Immediate Past President, Mr. Randy McDowell, presented Ms. Johnson and Dr. Killian with this award during the Awards Luncheon. While serving on the commission, they both provided practical knowledge and understanding of school finance policy decisions which directly impact student learning. We understand the time commitment and dedication it took to serve on this commission and are proud to extend this honor to them. Thank you both!
