TEA Change to Prior Approval Policy

The Texas Education Agency has issued guidance related to prior approval requirements for the expenditure of federal grant funds for educational field trips and program-related out-of-state travel for school year 2015-16.  Effective immediately, prior approval is not necessary. Districts must continue to comply with the terms and conditions of federal grants and are responsible for demonstrating that these costs are allowable, reasonable and necessary.
