Our 2016 Commitment to Excellence Recipient - Frankie Jackson

Dallas, TX – At its Annual Conference in March, the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) recognized Frankie Jackson, Chief Technology Officer from Cypress-Fairbanks ISD as its 2016 TASBO Commitment to Excellence Award Recipient. Each year, TASBO selects an outstanding TASBO member, who demonstrates consistent leadership within the organization and their profession.

After serving as Goose Creek CISD’s Chief Technology Officer for 19 years, Frankie has been instrumental in helping Cypress-Fairbanks ISD fulfill its mission: LEAD (Learn Empower Achieve Dream). Cypress-Fairbanks ISD has earned the highest possible rating of MET standard for the 3rd consecutive year and was named 2015 TASA Outstanding School Board in 2015. Cypress-Fairbanks ISD CFO Stuart Snow has lauded Frankie’s positive impact in planning and activating technology infrastructure within the district’s recent bond program.

“Ms. Jackson has been instrumental in developing performance excellence technology systems and education services since 2013 when she was hired in CFISD,” said Dr. Mark Henry, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Superintendent. “She has helped build 21st Century learning environments and created a vision for the transformative role of technology, which is essential in a district where we strive to serve Every Student, Every Day.”

Frankie has been an active leader with TASBO since 1995 and, most recently, served a term as its Board President in 2012. Her accomplishments as a board member include the development of the Performance Excellence Program (PEP) and leading the way for innovation in eLearning, technology infrastructure and online tools. She also has guided enhancements to the content and processes of TASBO’s robust continuing education program.

Along with the Commitment to Excellence Award Finalists David Garcia from Midland ISD and Mike Singleton from Dallas ISD, Frankie was honored at TASBO’s Annual Conference Awards Luncheon on March 3, 2016 in Dallas. More than 1,000 people attended the luncheon, sponsored by AXA.

“In appreciation of our partnership with TASBO we are committing $5,000 to this year’s award recipients. We will donate $3,000 to the 1st place recipient’s home district and an additional $1,000 each to the remaining finalists,” said Matthew Foxhall, Regional Senior Vice President for AXA, who sponsors the award.
