It’s a best practice to look for opportunities to recognize and acknowledge employees that are doing things right to increase positive attitudes about the school district's efforts to achieve a stronger internal control culture. An over-emphasis on rules and consequences neither serves to increase buy-in nor to increase trust. Be sure to take time to recognize improvements by various teams, in addition to individuals and departments, as many of the more important internal controls rely on the efforts of many individuals working in multiple campuses and offices across the school district.
