Commissioner's Final Rules Released Concerning Video Surveillance of Certain Special Education Settings
TEA has released final rules concerning video surveillance in certain special education settings in accordance with Senate Bill 507, enacted by the 84th Texas Legislature. A request for an opinion from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton regarding SB 507 remains pending and could lead to rule amendments that could further affect adopted budgets for fiscal year 2017. The effective date is August 15, 2016.
2015–2016 Per Capita Distributions from the Available School Fund
The final Available School Fund per capita rate for school year 2015-16 will increase from $176.437 to $180.320.
Official Notification of Preliminary 2015–2016 Charter FIRST Rating
Action Required: If your charter school wants to appeal an adverse issue it identifies in the preliminary rating, your charter school may submit a written appeal with supporting evidence to the Division of Financial Compliance. For the appeal to be considered, it must be received by September 8, 2016.
