Release 1 of the State Aid Template (12/8/15) developed by Omar Garcia, BOSC, Inc., has been posted to the Region XIII Education Service Center web site. This release reflects changes made by the 84th Legislative Session to the school finance formulas and is based on Omar’s understanding of them as of the date of this release. Users should read the ‘Notes1’ tab and stay tuned in case further changes become necessary. The 2013-14 school year has been dropped and the 2020-21 year has been added. Also, the tax year 2014 $25K and $15K values used in 2015-16 now load automatically. The I&S hold harmless calculations related to the additional $10,000 homestead exemption have been updated as well.
Also, Version 2 of the State Aid Template, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 Biennium, developed by the Texas Education Agency has been posted to the TEA State Funding web site. This version contains the revised Available School Fund (ASF) rate of $176.135, and T2 and T8 property values reflect the additional $10,000 homestead exemption.
