Do not to forget to complete the Tax Information Survey so that 2018-2019 Near Final Settle-Up can be as correct as possible and match the templates you have been running back in the district. The Tax Information Survey will close at midnight on August 31, and that is just around the corner. You submit this information by logging in to the FSP application in TEAL and selecting the "Tax Information Survey".
Remember that you not only have to submit the information, but you need to make sure that your district approver (often the superintendent) has approved it so that it gets all the way to TEA. If you log in and see that your data is in "saved" or "submitted to superintendent" status, that means it has not made it all the way through and further action by the district is required. If you miss this deadline, you may have to wait until Final Settle-up next spring for the correct collections to be included in your FSP settle-up calculations.
With so many changes happening in the world of school finance right now, it would be easy to overlook this yearly deadline.
