TEA Correspondence of Note

By Amanda Brownson posted 08-21-2019 16:17

We wanted to make sure you were all aware of two new pieces of correspondence from TEA.  The first announces new PIC Codes that will be used to track the use of the following allotments: early education allotment (PIC 36), dyslexia allotment (PIC 37), and college, career and military readiness (PIC 38).

The letter also reminds districts that PIC 21 (for GT) will continue to be used because even though the allotment was repealed, program requirements were not.  PIC 31 for the high school allotment will continue for at least one more year as districts may have unspent funds they need to include here.
Read the correspondence here.

T
he second is announcing new training on cyber-security to help districts comply with SB 820 and HB 3834.  These bills require changes in district cyber-security policies and procedures and will require additional staff training.
Read that correspondence here.
