On May 17, 2017, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) announced it is allowing one additional year for the grace period for non-Federal entities to implement changes to their procurement policies and procedures, under 2 CFR 200.317 through 200.326. According to the announcement, the effective implementation date for the procurement standards will start for fiscal years beginning on or after December 26, 2017 (fiscal year starting on July 1, 2018 or September 1, 2018 [updated 5.19.2017]). Texas public schools and their auditors are also reminded about the provisions in 2 CFR 200.110 which require entities to document their decision to choose to use the previous procurement standards during the extension period.
