A new single special collections report that was designed by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to streamline the application process for federal funds will lessen the administrative burdens of open-enrollment charter schools, selected special local education agencies and state schools. The single special collections report applies beginning with the 2015-2016 school year. The 2015–2016 Request for Federal Funding & Indirect Cost Rate for Charter Schools (SC5050) must be certified and submitted by the April 7, 2015 deadline.
According to TEA, “TEA will use this submission [April 7, 2015] of the SC5050 to determine eligibility and planning amounts for applicable No Child Left Behind (NCLB) federal programs and indirect cost rates, if requested. TEA will open the SC5050 again in August 2015 to collect data for NCLB and special education significant expansion consideration.”
